2nd Grade – First Holy Communion Class:

Communion RetreatSaturday, March 11, 2023, from 9:00am to Noon in Parish Center. 

Reconciliation/ConfessionSaturday, April 29, 2023, at 10:00am in St. Michael Church.

Practice for Communion: Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 6:00pm in St. Michael Church

First Holy CommunionSaturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00am in St. Michael Church 

Girls must wear white dress, if dress has spaghetti straps a sweater must be worn. Boys may wear a suit with white shirt. Suits do not have to be white.

8th Grade – Confirmation Class:

 

Confirmation packets due: January 31, 2023 (Please turn in as soon as possible)

Confirmation Interviews with Father Ariel: Tuesday, March 28th. If your child misses the interview, he/she will need to make an appointment with Father Ariel.

*Mandatory Confirmation RetreatSaturday, April 1stth from 10:00 AMto 5:00 PM at St. Michael Church. 

*Note: If you are unable to make the Confirmation retreat, please let us know as soon as possible so we can help you find a retreat at another parish. This retreat is a required in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Confirmation Practice: Tuesday, May 16 at 6:00 PM. All students and sponsors must meet in the basement at 5:45 PM. Sponsor must attend practice.  If sponsor is unable to make the practice, please let us know.

Sacrament of Confirmation: Tuesday, May 23rd at 5:00 PM.  Studentsand sponsors must report to St. Michaels church basement by 4:00 PM. Dress appropriately for church. NO JEANS or SNEAKERS allowed. Boys must wear slacks, shirt and tie. Girls must wear either a dress or slacks and a nice top. Shoulders should be covered. Confirmandi are not to have cell phones in their possession in church and gum chewing is prohibited.


Summer Prep:

If a child is attending the Summer Prep program, they must attend the program for the grade they are entering in September of that year. For example: A student entering the 3rd grade in September of 2023 would take the Summer Prep program for the 3rd grade in the summer program of 2023.

In-Class Sessions Requirement: All Second and Eight Grade Summer Prep students are required to attend the in-class sessions during the months of January, February, March and April. There are projects and additional preparation classes during these grades. Second Grade will be preparing for Reconciliation and Communion at these sessions. Eighth grade students will be preparing for their Confirmation interviews and the Sacrament of Confirmation.


Safety: All doors to the building will be locked after 5:40pm and re-opened at 6:30pm for the safety of the students. There will be someone in the gym if you find it necessary to enter during this time. Parents are required to come into the building to sign out their children at the end of class.

 

Emergency Closing: In the case of bad weather whenever Buena Regional Schools are closed, our classes will also be closed or if schools are dismissed early because of the weather, our classes will be closed. However, if schools have a delayed opening, we will have classes that day. If there are any questions, please call coordinatorscatechist/teacher. We will also send a message through our Remind message alert system.  If you are not receiving messages through Remind, please ask for information on how to sign up when you bring your child to CCD.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults Any adult wishing to come into the Church or needing to complete the sacraments, please call the Parish Office. If you have received your sacraments but want a refresher course to grow in your faith, you may also join us.
